Cloning your instance

Cloning an instance can be useful if you want a quick backup that you can easily go back to before you update your server, make any significant changes or want to test something.

To create a clone of your instance, you will first need to go to the console page of your instance, then in the sub-navigation for the instance near the bottom you should see a link named clone.

Clicking this will bring up a confirmation box stating that cloning an instance will make a complete clone of the instance and will increase the storage space use by the amount the instance your cloning is using.

Upon clicking the clone button, it will start to make a copy of the instance and once it's done, you will be taken to the newly clones instance. Depending on the size of the instance you are cloning, it may take a while for it to clone.
